Friendly House
Friendly House is one of Arizona’s pioneer social services agencies – first established in 1920 by the Phoenix Americanization Committee as part of a local initiative to assist immigrants in acquiring the citizenship, education, and literacy skills necessary to acculturate into the United States.
Programs
Today, Friendly House offers programs in early childhood development, K–8 charter school, youth education services, family services, workforce development, adult education, and immigration and citizenship services.
Active Parenting of Teens
Turn the challenges of raising a teenager into opportunities for growth. This free program meets virtually on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
College and Career Readiness TRiO Talent Search
This program is currently accepting middle school and high school students with a desire to continue their education and attend a college/university. The student will receive academic advising, virtual college campus tours, financial aid assistance, college readiness workshops, etc.
Student eligibility requirements:
- US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
- Meet the low income guidelines and/or first generation student
- Currently in grades six through twelve
- Must be at least eleven years old
- Must complete online application
- Be willing to commit to be a participant of the program
